Sometimes the spirit of contradiction takes over. And this has been the case. I only had to hear Julio Cortázar talk about broadening horizons for me to feel the need, framed in these times of crisis, to contrast it with the defeatist attitude that many people have of not seeing the way out of the tunnel.

Or to reflect, when Cortázar says that the outcome is yet to be seen, how, by going backwards, they can overtake us and leave us behind.
